It started with a simple frustration: Why do writers have to choose between powerful features and a clean writing experience? Why do we have to surrender our work to the cloud just to access it on different devices? Why are we forced to adapt our creative process to fit the limitations of software built for business documents?

As authors ourselves, we've struggled with every writing tool out there. Google Docs loses formatting and chokes on large manuscripts. Microsoft Word wasn't built for books. Scrivener is powerful but overwhelming. And don't get us started on the "AI writing" tools that want to write your book for you.

So we decided to build something different.

Author's Forge isn't just another writing app. It's a commitment to the idea that authors deserve tools that respect their craft, their privacy, and their ownership. Every feature is designed around how authors actually work - from organizing series to exporting for publishers.
